This list consists of my standard polarity: wistful, romantic train ride music (rain drop cascade on the window optional) and unabashedly vapid “rock-Forever-21-but-just-turned-thirtay” pop. As mentioned previously, the tracks aren’t ranked and the order was primarily motivated by how seamlessly I could get from Foxygen to Selena Gomez. I have to be honest about Ms. Gomez, she’s more of a placeholder for all the other American middle school pop I listened to this year. If you would like examples of these songs please take a car ride with me and allow me to scream-sing every Fun. song playing on the radio. And, Roar. Damn, I can scream the shit out of that one. Sadly, there are pretty significant artists that I completely forgot about like Vampire Weekend, which I played non-stop for the month of July, and Tegan and Sara who I fell in love with all over again this year now that they are making move towards the unabashed pop end of the spectrum. Good thing I got Selena Gomez on there, though. Can’t forget about her.
I toyed with adding some zero effort hip-hop that was so prevalent this year (VERSACE/VERSACE/VERSACE/VERSACE) but I couldn’t make it work with this collection of songs. They probably don’t flow with any collection of songs, really. Maybe that’s why Funkmaster Flex plays about 14 seconds of them before fading out and imploring you, begging you, to see him spin tonight at Club Perfection at 62-05 30th Avenue in Woodside. Won’t somebody see him tonight at Club Perfection? Please heed this desperate appeal or his (strobe) light will go out and he’ll die!

I'm leaving the rectangle that is hiding Bey's accent mark. It adds to the overall WTF aesthetic of this site.
